Reserve your class spot(s) here!

*We do not accept Level 1 drop-in students after Week 2, as the material will already be past the “brand-new dancer” level. Please consider joining us at the beginning of a monthly cycle if you are a new dancer 🤗*

If you reserve a spot but are unable to attend classes for whatever reason, please let us know so that we can apply your sign-up for a different month of classes.
If you'd prefer a refund, we can issue a partial refund of 95% due to the high costs of card processing fees kept by processors (even in the event of a refund).

POP-UP WORKSHOPS

Depending on our monthly schedule, we periodically host pop-up workshops to complement our weekly partnerwork learning at the studio.

Topics normally include the following:
-Musical breakdowns (from a dancer’s perspective)
-Musical social dancing (dancing TO the music)
-Merengue, Cumbia, Bolero, and Cha Cha Chá

While we are done for 2023, stay tuned on our social media pages, website, and our e-mail newsletter for upcoming workshops!

As these are group lessons, we have dancers switch partners throughout the class. Dancers that sign up together as a pair are welcome stay together and out of the rotation if they wish. We just encourage you to please communicate this to the other dancers during class.

LEVEL BREAKDOWN

Level 1: A student that has never taken organized Latin dance lessons and isn’t familiar with counting, tempo, and other fundamental terminology. Combination of techniques not yet expected.

Level 2: A student that can consistently execute fundamental techniques such as the Basic Step; Basic Turn; Cross Body Lead; and Walkthrough. Students are also expected to perform consecutive techniques in a basic combination.

Level 3: A student that can execute all Level 2 material without continued review and also understands the concept of traveling turns and combination of techniques into usable patterns.

Please keep in mind that entry into the higher levels can only be approved by the lead instructor Luis.

If you attend a more advanced class than appropriate without first consulting with us, we will not be able to properly host you in class and/or change material to accommodate your skill level.

All classes are held at the new Kanopy Dance Studio, right around the corner from Overture Center and Madison Public Library:

329 W Mifflin St (ground level)
Madison, WI 53703
